His left hand is much weaker than the right and he sounds like Lugansky. There is not enough weight in the music and the balance is shifted. They both need to work on that.

I think Rachmaninoff would have thoroughly enjoyed these interpretations of his etudes - Redkin brings out the inner voices and moods that are so important here

What does it take to perform Rachmaninov’s music fantastically? Lyrical episodes must be cede. This pianist doesn't know about it. It is closer to social realism.

Rachmaninov`s etudes tableaux are the best piano etudes in the 20th century for me..ok, I also like the debussy, the rautavara and the ligeti etudes, but nevertheless^^

Mr Redkin, my deepest gratitude. To me this is the most beautiful ProkofievSonata of all. In a way almost “postmodern”, but at the same time Haydnesquely playful, Brahmsianly melancholical - and, considering what the composer was living through at that moment, Schubertianly tragical. The abrupt shifts, the sudden silences, the returns, the false starts, the epiphanical conclusions... How great is this music, and how terribly isolated - and wise, and innocent.. You brought your enormous insight in this masterpiece to your playing and you delighted me and you taught me new meanings for many passages.

I would be really interested to listen to the 4th sonata by Prokofiev played by you. Somehow I think, you could bring it to life. It is also kind of underrated, rarely played and fits in this times. At the moment I cannot get enough of it.

Thank you for posting this. It is not easy to listen to, especially within the context of these days. Well, but nothing is easy to listen to at the moment anyways. I hope, you yourself are doing ok. Regards from Finnland, Christoph

That you for posting this and also for explaining the sonata to the audience, by playing it, how you played it. Easily the best performance I know. And when you play it, there is no miracle about it. It is just a little different from the others, probably needed a different approach only. Your tempi work so well, also how there is more weight almost everywhere. I really enjoyed this. I hope you are well.

Finally, you have only one more song to play... There has been a lot of death on both sides in the last 23 days. It is too much of a loss that did not need to be paid. I followed your play with just sorrow. Thank you so much for these plays. May peace return to you and your people.

This is one of the best cadenza interpretation I v heard for this concert! Ashkenazy version is also one of the best in my opinion! Articulation and exposure of the notes are readable and understood!Bravo for this young player! This cadenza always reminds me of Cecil Taylor's music! In other versions, after the cadenza, the horns have more force and clarity than in this version, maybe it is a product of the sound engineers, even so, I love this version!
